DR BIODUN ARIYO
Biodun Ariyo is an astute Corporate and Investment banker and currently the Ag Group Head, Corporate Banking and Structured Finance. Prior to this, he was the Group Head of Export Business at Providus Bank – A fast pacing financial service solution provider in Nigeria.
He started his banking career in United Bank for Africa in 2005. He has also worked at various times in Ecobank Nigeria in the Retail Banking team; Oceanic Bank (Now Ecobank); In 2010, he joined Corporate Banking Coverage team of FirstBank and later the Structured Trade Finance team an offshoot of FBNBank UK Ltd where he had an impressive role of Originating, structuring and managing complex trade finance deals. During his stay at FirstBank, Biodun also worked in Institutional Banking, Treasury, Transaction Banking, Agric and Export Business.
He has financed trade out of Africa, Europe and Middle East with an in-depth knowledge across various industries and market. He has championed a lot of Landmark trade finance deals within the sub-Saharan AFRICA.

His areas of expertise include Corporate and Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Retail Banking, Treasury, Transaction Banking, Credit Risk Management and Structured Trade Finance with its integrals i.e. International Trade Finance, Commodity Based Finance, Structured Trade Finance, Receivables-Backed Finance. He is an expert with a proven record for initiating and structuring complex Trade deals within Soft Commodity, Mining & Metal and Energy spaces.
He is also a regular speaker in many International trade Finance conferences. He also champions webinar in-Country to facilitate knowledge and ventilate information on trade for all stakeholders
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics with “Best Graduating Student Badge” from University of Ilorin; He also possesses Masters in Business Administration from Business School Netherlands. He is a member of The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, Fellow of the Institute of Credit Administration, Associate Member, Institute of Chartered Economist of Nigeria. He is currently a registered PHD Student at Bodhisastra University (BOU) Florida, United States of America
